A journey through modern Greek history, from the Asia Minor Catastrophe to the Occupation by the Axis Powers, the Reconstruction and the Dictatorship. A journey based on works by poets and writers and, at the same time, on examples of visual works made by the so-called Generation of the Thirties in Greece. Paintings and sculptures, manuscripts and personal notes, symphonic works, architectural drawings, engravings and photographic documents, are juxtaposed with texts in rhyme or prose written by leading artists of the time. This cross-thematic approach of the exhibits in the Nikos Hadjikyriakos-Ghika Gallery is also combined with movement-related examples and activities.
